What customers say?

“ I was excited when this place opened up near me as it advertised having authentic Sichuan dishes. The dishes all tasted good, but I did not think they achieved the authentic flavor that I ate in Sichuan and have had at certain other restaurants in the area. The wonton in chili sauce didn't seem to include any chili oil, it resembled more of a brown sauce. The shredded pork w garlic sauce substituted green peppers for the usual bamboo shoots. The Dan Dan noodles seemed to be missing something of the signature taste, possibly the yacai preserved vegetable, but I couldn't say for sure. Having said that, I think all the dishes tasted good. I also tried the crispy beef and the taste profile was quite sweet. Perhaps what they are doing is offering traditional Chinese dishes but making small adjustnents to be more tailored to the American palette. Given the dishes I tried, while I would not go so far as to call it authentic, it is still a good place for many people looking to try traditional Chinese flavors in a way that is perhaps more approachable. ”

“ I'm very glad Taipei Tokyo is gone since this is an amazing replacement. Honestly this is the best and fastest service I've ever had in a restaurant period. The food came out minutes after ordering. The appetizer was gigantic and delicious. I think the only feedback I have is the beef noodle soup had no flavor. Lots of color but was lacking salt and the noodles were a little too cooked. The pork bao dish was quite good and the mapo tofu was also quite good. Sichuan cuisine in this area has quite a high bar and I think this place has a good standing ”

“ This is a complicated review to leave, one that will be applicable to some and not to others. The quality of the food here is amazing, well cooked and decently portioned. However, this has to be the most bland, flavorless Chinese food I’ve ever had (at least for what I ordered). I ordered the General Tso’s chicken with fried rice, the General Tso’s chicken had absolutely no heat/spice/flavor. It was just really well cooked(breaded) chicken in a sauce. The fried rice, again, while really well cooked and loaded with all the expected veggies, somehow tasted like steamed rice as opposed to fried rice. For $18 I guess I just expected more of what I’ve been accustomed to. Then again this restaurant may be geared towards those who desire a more redacted type of food. For those of us who appreciate the “in your face” flavor this is not the restaurant for you. ”

“ This restaurant opened in December 2024, but this was the first time we visited. Everyone was very friendly, but half way through our meal, our Server lost focus, and we had to flag down people to get to go boxes and our check. We ordered the Beijing Duck and the Sesame Chicken. I was asked what side I wanted with my Duck, and Duck Bone Soup was an option, which I chose. The Duck was delicious, but the soup was delivered after the meal, wish I could have gotten the soup before the meal...it was amazing. The Sesame Chicken was a fail for me, the sauce was too sweet, sticky, and didn't taste homemade. Based on how wonderful the Duck was, I will definitely return and try other things on the menu. ”

“ Kungfu 12 just took over where Tokyo Taipei used to be, and honey… let’s just say the “Szechuan” in the title is more of a suggestion than reality. The menu feels like a mash-up of random Chinese dishes with a sprinkle of Taiwanese, but none of it hits that authentic note. It’s like Chinese food that’s been through a suburban makeover. The spicy wontons? Not even giving “mild salsa” energy. The siu mai tastes like something you’d grab from the frozen aisle at Target. And the Three Cup Chicken? Cute, but my grandma would side-eye it and tell me to sit down so she could show them how it’s really done. Now, not everything’s a flop — the string beans and beef actually have a nice balance, but the pork could use a little more oomph. Overall? It’s edible, but let’s not pretend it’s a culinary revelation. Kungfu 12 needs a few more black belts in flavor before it can really spar with the real deal ”

“ I recently dined at this amazing Chinese restaurant and was thoroughly impressed! The food is absolutely delicious, and it’s so rare to find authentic Chinese restaurants still open and serving such high-quality dishes. We tried a variety of meals, and everything was really good. While I wouldn’t personally recommend the *domaine* or *Pad Thai-style* dishes (they weren’t my favorite), every other dish we ordered was fantastic. The flavors were rich, the ingredients fresh, and the portions generous. I strongly recommend this place to anyone craving great Chinese food. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out—this restaurant is a must-try! ”
